Hi I'm Dekka(Derek) Born Kidsgrove S-o-T into soul music in 1966 as i first visited the Golden Torch and progressed to other venues including The Twisted Wheel amongst the many that grew up as time went on and Soul developed more and more into what we have today a vast variety of types and tempos to satisfy any soul followers preferences.What we have today could be considered  just as great as it was back then we have more now and also more venues to choose from.Still dancing after all this time to my oldies but love the modern type and of course the ever green Tamla Motown.Hoping for a few more years yet and to enjoy listening to my music.Dekka.

Electrician 1970-1985

Hi I'm a specialist dental nurse work in a Max Fac clinic. Three beautiful daughters, 2 beautiful grandaughters.  Love to travel whenver I can.

Used to frequent the Torch in Tunstall when I was a much younger girl, 16 to be exact, haha, watched Major Lance there but only vagually remember it!! Tried to make it to see Junior Walker there but the weather was atrocious, couldn't get a lift for love nor money.

Went to Catacombs, VaVa's, Blackpool Mecca, Wigan Casino, Carlton Club, Coop Hall Warrington,Bell Hall.  Most recently, Whitby Northern Soul Weekender, great place, Crewe allnighter, Lowton Civic Hall and local nights, oh and Soul In the Sun, once.

I miss the old days like mad, they were great times.

I live in Crewe and have been a big fan of Northern Soul for many years.  Love the music, love the dancing!
